Assembly Elections 2024 LIVE: With less than a week remaining for voting, the campaigning has been intensified for Maharashtra and Jharkhand legislative assembly elections. Curtains will come down on Monday on campaigning for these assembly elections.

Star campaigners of both the NDA and INDIA bloc including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and others canvassed for their respective party nominees during the campaigning.

On Sunday, the Election Commission took a serious note of complaints from the Congress and the JMM against a “misleading and malicious” video posted by the Jharkhand BJP on social media platforms, and directed its state poll chief to direct the party to take down the post. It has also sought an explanation from the state BJP for the alleged violation of the provisions of the model code of conduct by posting the video.

Voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly will take place in a single phase on 20 November. Jharkhand completed the first phase of polling in 43 constituencies on 13 November, with the second phase scheduled for 20 November in the remaining 38 constituencies. Votes will be counted on 23 November.
