With two days left to go for the US elections, Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B slammed tech billionaire Elon Musk for calling her a "puppet" for the campaign of Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.
Sharing the clip of Cardi B's speech on X, which he owns, the self-proclaimed "dark gothic MAGA" said that the rapper is “another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words.”
At a rally in Milwaukee, a video captured the "WAP" rapper supporting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. During her speech, a teleprompter glitch caused a brief delay until someone stepped in, handing her a phone with the necessary speech points.
LMAO Cardi B's teleprompter was broken and she had no idea what to do for over a minute until someone ran on the stage to give her a phone to read off. Holy embarrassing. pic.twitter.com/BRl8xGP72e — aka (@akafacehots) November 2, 2024
“The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy," Musk added.
To which Cardi B swiftly responded, “I’m not a puppet, Elon... I'm the daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their a** off to provide for me.”
“I’m a product of welfare; I’m a product of Section 8 (rental housing assistance); I’m a product of poverty; and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set against you. But you don’t know anything about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle... PS, fix my algorithm,” she added.
Elon Musk was born in South Africa to affluent parents. His father, Errol Musk, reportedly held a partial stake in an emerald mine in Zambia.
