Former President Donald Trump and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris are headed for a tough battle as results start pouring in for the US election 2024. While Republican Trump is looking to become only the second President to win a non-consecutive term in the Oval Office, Harris is eyeing history by becoming the first woman President of the US.
As initial trends as projected by the Associate Press suggested on Wednesday morning, Trump was leading his Democratic opponent, Harris seemed to be fast catching up, winning the key states of California, with the largest number of 54 electoral votes, and New York (28 votes). Meanwhile, Trump was projected to win Texas, with 40 electoral votes, and Florida (30 votes) among others.
