As the highly-anticipated US Presidential Elections are almost here, former President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on his Democratic rival Kamala Harris on economy and immigration, saying she would introduce a ‘1929-style economic depression’ if she wins the upcoming contest and promising to “massively cut taxes".

This came after the Vice President called Trump “weak" and accused him of seeking flattery from dictators, demeaning the US military and calling for the termination of the American Constitution. Over several months in the run-up to the election, both candidates have lobbed personal attacks at each other.

“If Kamala wins, you are 3 days away from the start of a 1929-style economic depression. If I win, you are 3 days away from the best jobs, the biggest paychecks, and the brightest economic future the world has ever seen," said Trump in a post on X.

‘No Tax On Tips, Overtime And Social Security’

Trump asserted Harris’ “inflation nightmare" had cost a typical US family $30,000 in higher prices and now she wanted to impose the “largest tax hike" in American history. “I will massively cut taxes for workers and small businesses—and we will have NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY benefits!" he said.

The Republican candidate also assailed Harris over rising illegal immigration, calling it the “most egregious betrayal" inflicted by any leader in American history. “She has violated her oath, eradicated our sovereign border, and unleashed an army of gangs and criminal migrants from prisons and jails, insane asylums and mental institutions around the world, from Venezuela to the Congo—stealing countless American lives," he added.

As the election approaches, the economy and immigration are hot-button issues for voters. Voters have largely aligned with Trump’s stance on economy and immigration, while Harris holds the edge of women’s rights and democratic rule.

Harris Vs Trump: What Do Polls Say?

Election Day is Tuesday, but Americans have been voting early for weeks, with more than 72 million ballots already cast — including a record four million in Georgia, where Democrats seek to pull out all the stops to keep the state in their column.

Opinion polls continue to show a tied race, particularly in the seven battleground states likely to determine the result in the US Electoral College system, leaving the Republican businessman and his 60-year-old Democratic rival fighting hard to peel off even slivers of support from each other’s camps.

Harris is making last-ditch efforts by appealing to centrist voters and propelling her base to the polls with a robust ground game and get-out-the-vote effort. Trump, meanwhile, has doubled down on his already extreme rhetoric in hopes of firing up his loyal base to turn out in massive numbers.
