Jennifer Lopez, US pop queen, faced backlash after her emotional response to a joke about Puerto Rico made at a recent Donald Trump rally. During the rally at Madison Square Garden, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage", sparking outrage from Puerto Ricans and prominent Latino figures.
Lopez, who looks emotional, responded at a Las Vegas rally for Democrat Kamala Harris, delivering a passionate speech condemning the remark and endorsing Harris for the upcoming election.
“At Madison Square Garden, he [Trump] reminded us who he really is and how he really feels,” Lopez said. “It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day. It was every Latino in this country. It was humanity and anyone of decent character."

Lopez went on to emphasise her own identity and pride, saying, “I am Puerto Rican, and yes, I was born here, and we are Americans... You can’t spell American without Rican.”
Lopez’s endorsement of Harris and emotional reaction to the joke drew attention from MAGA supporters, who took to social media to troll the singer.
The latest endorsement for Kamala Harris for president came from NBA's all-time leading scorer, LeBron James.
Some questioned her motives, referencing her past relationship with P Diddy, who has faced legal issues.
“If you were a regular at P Diddy’s parties, there’s a 100% chance you’ll endorse Kamala Harris,” wrote one user on X.
“A lawsuit was filed last week from a victim that was a 13-year-old upcoming artist in 2000 where P Diddy raped him. Jennifer Lopez was at that VMA party with her boyfriend P. Diddy when it occurred. Jennifer Lopez just endorsed Kamala Harris and cried about Puerto Rico having a huge trash problem on the island for decades, but has never been seen doing anything philanthropic for the island. I hope all the victims from Hollywood, Sports, Music & Political Industry get their day in court,” wrote another user on X.
“No surprise here; Jennifer Lopez holds back tears as she officially endorses Kamala Harris. ‘It’s time for us to show up for her,’ remarked Lopez. Kamala's endorsements seem to resemble one big Diddy party, don’t they?” wrote another user on X.
“LeBron James is the latest Diddy party participant to officially endorse Kamala Harris. LeBron famously said: ‘There’s no party like a Diddy party.’ He’s obviously trying to protect himself. Hopefully when Trump wins he will release the Diddy files and hold these people accountable,” a user on X said.
