The attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton by Khalistan supporters was “pre-planned" and received the “green signal" from the Justin Trudeau government, top Intelligence sources said on Monday, terming the incident a “state-sponsored" attack.
Videos that are doing the rounds on social media show a group of men holding Khalistani flags thrashing people with sticks outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Canada.
“The attack was to make minorities feel insecure. Why was a red line not drawn for protests by police?" sources asked.
According to eyewitnesses, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) started attacking Hindu worshippers in the temple grounds, with a video showing an RCMP officer punching Hindus in the head and beating them with batons. This led to a large number of Hindus protesting in front of the temple gate.
Calling Canada ‘worse than Pakistan now’, the sources blamed Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the chaos, calling him a “mute spectator who is allowing every force to act".
“Why is he not handing over an accused who is wanted by the top federal investigative agency of India?" they asked.
Though Trudeau condemned Monday’s violence and called it “unacceptable", he has been accused by India of fanning extremist sentiments to save his minority government “that can fall any day".
Trudeau’s latest admission that there was no concrete proof but only intelligence of India’s involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil has also come back to bite him, with his own party’s MPs seeking his resignation to contain the diplomatic damage.
Earlier, Intel sources, responding to Trudeau’s assertion that some MPs told him about India’s involvement in the killing, said the prime minister should name the politicians “so that we can also reply with their credentials".
“The Canadian Parliament is full of Khalistan sympathisers and they have taken Trudeau for a ride. How can a prime minister, on the basis of only intelligence given by some individuals, name and blame a country for a killing? Trudeau’s behaviour is not like that of a responsible prime minister and he has spoiled relations between two countries."
