Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that negative politics has lost in Maharashtra, where the BJP-led Mahayuti returned to the power with a thumping majority.
Addressing BJP workers at party headquarters in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said that this is the first time that a pre-poll alliance got such a huge mandate in Maharashtra.
“In Maharashtra, lies have lost today. Negative politics has lost. Parivarvad has lost. I would like to praise Eknath Shinde, Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar ji. There were by polls results also today. UP, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan have given their support to BJP. People of assam once again has showed their trust in BJP," he said.
The Prime Minister further said that the victory in Maharashtra shows the country only wants development.
