Glen Coleman told the victim whose complaint he was probing to perform erotic dances for him.

Former Australian police officer Glen Coleman, 57, allegedly raped a young woman whose complaint he was investigating, Australian news agencies said in a report.

According to a report by Sydney Morning Herald, Coleman, a police officer of the New South Wales province, allegedly raped the victim, sexually touched her without her consent and sent her unsolicited intimate photos, despite being assigned with the responsibility of solving her case. He also headed the provincial police force’s sex crimes squad.

The victim was in her late teens when the alleged crimes were committed, prosecutors told Penrith District Court. They said the crimes were committed in early 2022.

Crown prosecutor Kate Nightingale told the jury that the ex-cop sexually touched the woman without consent inside police vehicles on two occasions between April 1 and May 6, 2022.

He also sexually assaulted her at a police station on May 5 of the same year.

Coleman did not deny having sex with the victim. He said the sex with the victim, who was a teenager at the time, was consensual.

“Mr Coleman denies he ever sexually touched or had sexual intercourse with the complainant without her free and voluntary consent,” defence barrister Joel Brook said.

The ex-cop also sent intimate photos of himself to the woman, asked her to send intimate photos of her, and offered her money to engage in sexual conduct with him.

Coleman’s trial began on Monday. The accused ex-cop pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual intercourse without consent, six counts of sexually touching another person without consent and one count of misconduct by a holder of public office.

The trial led by a jury of nine men and three women and judge Robert Montgomery is expected to last two-to-three weeks.

‘Demanded Erotic Dances’

The victim met the ex-cop at Windsor Police Station in February 2022 to file a complaint against her cousin who had threatened to share her naked images online.

Months later when Glen Coleman found out that the alleged victim had gone for an interview at a Sydney strip club, he begged her to pay for sex or erotic dances.

He also asked if she could dance naked for him before grabbing her breasts and genitals when they met in a park in late March 2022.

Coleman offered her $700 for two hours of sex in May 2022. “You will wear a dress and a lacy g-string. Bring another unless you want to go without undies as I will be keeping it,” he said.

The victim also said that she noticed Coleman had an erection during an interview in late March 2022. “I am so hard for you,” he allegedly told her.

According to Australian newspaper The Daily Northern Leader, Coleman sent the victim texts calling her “bubs” and “gorgeous” by text and Snapchat message. He began texting her from April 2022.
