Tech titan Elon Musk has shared a TikTok video featuring an allegedly Haitian-descent woman describing reasons why Haitians eat cats. The post by Musk, who has endorsed Donald Trump for the US presidential election, comes as several media outlets are fact-checking claims made by the Republican that illegal immigrants from Haiti were eating pets in an Ohio city.

The woman, who uses the name Rebekah Faidia on TikTok, also speaks about the voodoo practices in Haiti, describing them as "truly demonic". The woman said her father immigrated from Haiti to the United States in the late 1960s as a teenager.

"My father and I are now estranged, but I did know him in my very, very young years. When he immigrated, he was one person, and they weren't sending thousands of Haitians to one area... he said that the majority of the island does practice voodoo," the woman, who is believed to have been born in the United States, said.
