An Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut targeted the head of the armed group Hezbollah’s operations room, Reuters reports. The Israeli military says the attack targeted a Hezbollah commander responsible for deadly Majdal Shams attack. A source told Reuters that the target was Fuad Shukr who serves as a senior military adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.The city has been on edge for days ahead of an anticipated Israeli attack in retaliation for an attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Lebanon’s state media reports that two floors of the al-Rabi building in the southern suburbs of Beirut have collapsed.
