Isra Hirsi, the daughter of the Democrat Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, said that she was homeless and had nowhere to live, after her suspension over anti-Israel protests on Thursday. The US Congresswoman said she was proud of her daughter after her arrest over pro-Palestine protests.

Isra Hirsi, was amongst the 100 students who were cuffed and arrested by the New York Police Department at Barnard College and Columbia University in New York.

Some of the protesting students were slapped with suspension from their college boarding after they sat out in camps and refused to move out, at the prestigious Ivy League college on Thursday.

"I was a little bit frantic, like, where am I going to sleep? Where am I gonna go?" Hirsi told Teen Vogue reacting to her ban from college housing.

'I don't know when I can go home, and I don't know if I ever will be able to," added 21-year Hairsi, who is a third year student at the college.

She held the college administration responsible for keeping her hungry and homeless, saying, "Hey, I rely on campus for my meals, I rely on my dining plan".

Hirsi, along with hundreds of members of Apartheid Divest, an anti-Israel student group, were staging a sit-in protest on the campus last week.

The students suspended, along with the Congresswoman's daughter were given warnings to clear out the lawn, prior to the NYPD hauling them away.

"I just received notice that I am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide," Isra wrote on X on Thursday before the police crackdown.

Hirsi said that she was held for eight hours in police custody, which was uncomfortable.

She also claimed that the Barnard’s president, Laura Rosenbury, took a tough stance on the student.

Following the arrest of her daughter, Congresswoman Omar had said that she was "enormously proud" of her daughter.
