Apple's MagSafe charging tech has shown a new way of wireless charging iPhones, Infinix is bringing this tech to its new mid-range phone.

These are exciting times for smartphone buyers, especially if you are in the market for a mid-range phone with premium features. Recently, we talked about the availability of wireless charging on a mid-range 5G phone from Motorola, and now another brand is pushing the envelope of high-tech features.

Infinix has announced its new Infinix Note 40 Pro series that includes a Plus variant. The new Infinix phones are powered by MediaTek chipsets and cater to both 4G and 5G networks, depending on where you are and your budget. But the biggest upgrade focuses on charging tech that Infinix has worked in-house.

Infinix 40 Pro Plus Charging Tech And MagSafe Charge

Infinix has worked on its own chip called Cheetah X1 that promises to keep the device temperature down even when it is being charged. The need for this chip has come about after the 40 Pro Plus model packing a 4,600mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging speed and 20W wireless charging similar to iPhone’s MagSafe charging tech.

The brand claims with its fast-charging tech, the phone can go from 0 to 50 per cent in 12 minutes, and most likely up to full juice in around 20 to 23 minutes like other brands claim for their fast-charging phones. MagSafe is definitely an exciting addition to the mid-range lineup, one that allows Android users to test its quality and performance, even if it just offers 20W charging speed.

Other premium features that Infinix is offering with the Note 40 Pro Plus are; 3D curved display, up to 12GB RAM, VC liquid cooling system, dual speakers tuned by JBL and IP53 rating for dust and water resistance.

The less exciting aspects of the phone are the use of a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset which is unlikely to break any performance standards and keep things simple. Infinix is offering Android 14 OS out of the box, and assures that the 40 Pro series will get 2 OS updates and 3 years of security patches. Infinix 40 Pro Plus is priced around Rs 25,000 which makes it one of the first in this bracket to have some of these features.
