Apple launched the iPhone Plus variant and it could be discontinued soon
Apple continues to mix it up with different iPhone screen sizes which has seen it launch the Mini, Plus and soon another new variant could be introduced.
Apple could be planning for the iPhone 16 series launch this year but the company has well and truly started working on the iPhone 17 lineup for 2025. We have seen the brand start with the iPhone Mini lineup a few years back which was then replaced with the iPhone Plus moniker and soon, there could be a new addition to the iPhone family as per the new reports.
Apple iPhone 17 Series Lineup In 2025: Slim Changes Expected
The report says that iPhone 17 series launching in 2025 will be given some changes, which includes the end of the Plus model. Apple could have a new iPhone 17 Slim version in the market that will continue to be part of the four device portfolio.
The news around a Slim model does sound interesting and it is likely to feature a 6.6-inch screen like the Plus variant but with a thinner body. Apple has shown penchant to experiment and try new screen options. We first saw the Mini, then moving to Plus and rumoured to be lining up a Slim version next year.
These models have generally failed to light up the sales numbers for Apple, which explains why they were shunted out after a few years of market launches. The iPhone Plus could be the latest victim of this cutthroat strategy and the Slim is likely to appeal to people who like lightweight phones that are as big as most Android phones.
As far as the screen sizes go, the report says iPhone 17 is tipped to come with a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max to get a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch OLED screens, respectively.
It has also been suggested that the iPhone 17, 17 Slim and 17 Pro will get an aluminium design while Apple decides to keep the titanium finish to the 17 Pro Max moniker in 2025. It is still very early to talk about the iPhone 17 models but the interest will surely be there and the Slim is worth talking about over the next few months.
