Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: The Congress’ Central Election Committee has finalised a list of 26 Lok Sabha poll candidates for the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. According to sources, the grand old party’s third list of candidates would be out “very soon” and could be as early as Thursday. They said the panel headed by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has finalised 12 candidates for Maharashtra and seven each for Gujarat and Rajasthan. Speaking to reporters about the development, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole on Wednesday said, “We have discussed at least 18-19 seats of Maharashtra, we have finalised at least 12 seats and tomorrow morning, we have a meeting with Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray…Final discussions will be held and all seats will be announced by tomorrow or the day after.”

The Congress has so far announced 82 candidates in two lists for the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls beginning on April 19. The last phase of polling will be on June 1, and the counting of votes will take place on June 4. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) took serious note of the non-compliance/partial compliance of its instructions and directed all the states and union territories to immediately remove all unauthorised political advertisements and ensure full compliance with its instructions.
