Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has stated that Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg called him several times over the past few weeks, including after the July 13 assassination attempt on the former US President.

After a bullet pierced his right ear, Trump was photographed with his fist in the air and yelling, "Fight, fight, fight.".

Following the image, Trump stated that Zuckerberg apologised to him for Meta and Instagram censoring the photo.

Trump said that the Meta CEO stated, "That was really amazing; it was very brave." Speaking with Fox News, Trump stated that Zuckerberg "respected me for that day."

While citing Zuckerberg, Trump stated that the Meta CEO will not be supporting Democrats in this election out of respect.

"So Mark Zuckerberg called me a few times. He actually announced he was not actually going to support Democrats because he respects me for what I did that day. He actually apologised; he said they made a mistake, etc., and they are correcting the mistake. But nobody called from Google," he was quoted as saying by Fox News.
