Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the initiative on September 1 by renewing his membership, top party sources said

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) which prides itself in calling it the world’s largest political outfit, is set to embark on yet another membership drive from September 1. BJP has set an initial target of over 10 crores which they hope will be achieved.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the initiative on September 1 by renewing his membership, top party sources said.

“The states going to polls won’t witness membership drives. So naturally when later big states like Maharashtra will feature in the total membership tally, the final figure will hit a much bigger number,” Sambit Patratold News18.

The BJP has decided to go digital for this Membership drive in four ways –

BJP has been reluctant to give the toll-free number or the exact schedule of the membership drive, but News18 has learnt the toll-free number would be 8800002024.

The second half of the membership drive will take place from October 1- 15 will be the second half. A drive active membership will be held from October 16-30.

Sources told News18 that Vinod Tawde has been made in charge of the membership drive in Rajasthan, Goa, MP, Daman & Diu and Dadra &Nagar Haveli. Dushyant Gautam will oversee the membership drive in West Bengal, Sikkim, Tripura and Odisha. Purandeshwari and Arvind Menon will oversee the drive in southern India.

In Saturday’s meeting, which was attended by party president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJPs General Secy (Orgs) BL Santosh, and General Secretary Vinod Tawde among others, the technique, timetable and rules were discussed.

“It has been decided that Central leaders will go to states, state leaders will go to districts district leaders will visit Mandals and Mandal level leaders will travel to booths during this massive membership drive,” announced Patra.
