Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's team members, who reached India on Monday fleeing a violent uprising against the Awami League government, have begun leaving for new destinations, top government sources told India Today.

Sheikh Hasina flew with her sister, Sheikh Rehana, and her close associates left for India in a military transport jet and landed at Hindon airbase near Delhi.

The team that arrived in India with Sheikh Hasina was in total distress as they had to leave Bangladesh in a hurry to escape the mobs that even entered the Prime Minister's residence, sources in the government informed India Today TV.

As they left Bangladesh in a hurry, Sheikh Hasina and her associates could not even carry extra clothes or daily-use items, government sources told India Today TV.

The members of the protocol office deployed with the Bangladeshi entourage helped them buy clothes and daily items, they said.

According to sources, India has allowed Sheikh Hasina refuge until she gets asylum in some other country. Indian security personnel and protocol officers are helping the entourage members overcome the stress and shock, sources said.

Security Advisor Ajit Doval was the first on the ground to meet Sheikh Hasina and her entourage members. The two sides have discussed the present and future plans of the ousted Prime Minister.
