In the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a home on the picturesque shoreline collapsed before the pilings on which it stood sank and toppled the entire structure into the sea.

Listing out the probable reason behind the collapse of the house, weather experts stated that the crashing waves produced by Hurricane Ernesto, combined with high tides, appear to be the cause, as the New York Times reported.

Collin Rugg, co-owner of trending politics, posted video of the collapse on his official X handle on Sunday. "Beachfront Home falls into the Atlantic Ocean on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. The incident was thanks to Hurricane Ernesto, which is off the coast in the Atlantic. The unfortunate owners purchased the 4-bed, 2-bath home in 2018 for $339,000. The home was built in 1973," he stated in the post.

The Park Services stated that this was the seventh incident that took place in Rodanthe over the last 4 years and cautioned visitors to stay away from the beaches near the Cape Hatteras national seashore, The Guardian reported.

Access to the area from Rodanthe to Jug Handle Bridge has been restricted following the collapse, as debris from the incident washed ashore. Jagged metal fragments and wooden planks, some embedded with nails, now litter the beaches, posing hazards to the public.

Officials noted that numerous other homes in the Rodanthe vicinity also seem to have suffered damage. “Dangerous debris may be present on the beach and in the water for more than a dozen miles," the officials were quoted as saying by The Guardian in its report.

An alert from the park service warned of “exposed hazards, such as house-related septic systems, wires, pipes, and broken concrete parking pads.”
