A man wielding a sword allegedly attacked multiple people in north-east London, injuring five, including two police officers.
The Metropolitan Police responded to reports of a vehicle crashing into a house near Hainault underground station around 7 am on Tuesday. The suspect is said to have subsequently stabbed others in and around the tube station.
Authorities are investigating the possibility of the suspect having a history of mental illness. The Met has ruled out terrorism as a motive after assessing the incident.
Police believe the 36-year-old suspect acted alone.
