Video: NY police clear campus, enter building through window, make several arrests

As hundreds of New York City police officers entered Columbia University on Tuesday night to clear out an academic building that had been occupied as part of a pro-Palestinian protest, dozens of students were arrested.

Live video footage showed police in riot gear advancing on the campus in upper Manhattan, which has become a focal point for nationwide student protests against Israel’s actions in Gaza. To access the second floor of the building, police used an armored vehicle equipped with a bridging mechanism.

Shortly afterward, officers were observed leading protesters, who were handcuffed with zip ties, to a line of police buses waiting outside campus gates.
