In Nepal's capital Kathmandu, a plane crash claimed the lives of at least 18 people on Wednesday when the aircraft crashed and burst into flames during takeoff.
The pilot, now hospitalised for treatment, miraculously survived as the sole survivor of the incident.
The Saurya Airlines test flight carried a total of 19 people, including technical staff and two crew members.
The flight by Saurya Airlines bound for Pokhara, a renowned tourism hub, encountered a dramatic incident on Wednesday.
Footage circulated online depicted the aircraft engulfed in flames and smoke. Following the occurrence, emergency responders swiftly dispatched fire engines and ambulances to the scene.
