Two people have been killed after a cargo plane from Dubai skidded off the runway into the sea while landing at Hong Kong Airport early Monday, Reuters reported, citing the airport operator.

The accident took place at around 3:50 a.m. local time. Airport authorities confirmed that the aircraft was operating under an Emirates flight number. According to Reuters, Emirates has not yet issued a response to requests for comment.

The aircraft’s nose and tail sections appeared detached, and an emergency slide was seen inflated along the fuselage.

All four crew members on board were rescued, the airport said. One ground staff member was also rescued, while another remains missing.

As per a social media post, Flightradar24, a flight-tracking service, said the aircraft that went off the runway in Hong Kong was a Boeing 747 freighter.

At least 11 cargo flights that were initially scheduled to arrive at the airport on Monday have been cancelled, according to the Airport Authority’s website.
