Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the 1990s TV show ‘Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,’ has announced he is joining the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) to support President Donald Trump’s stance on immigration.

ICE has sharply increased immigration raids since Trump returned to office. Recently, the agency received an extra $7.5 billion in funding as part of Trump’s “big beautiful bill," which aims to hire an additional 10,000 ICE agents by 2029.

Cain revealed his decision during an interview on Fox News Wednesday, saying that he was inspired to join after sharing an ICE recruitment video on Instagram, which gained a lot of attention.

“I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer," Cain said. “I wasn’t part of ICE before, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy."

“So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at Ice, and I will be sworn in as an Ice agent, ASAP," he added.

Cain said he was motivated by a sense of patriotism and duty. “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing," he said.

“We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens," the actor noted.

The former Superman actor hopes others will join ICE too. “I’m stepping up. Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former Ice agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country," Cain added.

Since Trump’s re-election, ICE has been carrying out large-scale raids across the US, aiming for at least 3,000 arrests daily. These raids have targeted undocumented immigrants, residents with legal protections, and even some US citizens, sparking criticism over due process concerns.

ICE’s aggressive tactics have led to widespread protests nationwide. The Trump administration has responded by prosecuting protesters and civilians who record and challenge ICE actions.
