Apple’s big AI ambitions could take off this year and it will be taking Google’s help to make it a reality. The company is also bringing the Siri AI version soon, and reports suggest Apple might be having a hard time with its cloud setup to power on its own servers.

The report by The Information suggests the Cupertino-based giant is keen to do most of the computing in-house but may end up relying on Google’s AI servers to not only offer all the features but also improve the performance and experience of using them.

Apple has sought Google’s input on powering Siri AI on its server network. The company wants Siri to run through a new set of servers that meet its privacy and security standards rather than using the existing network at Google. It does make sense for Apple to utilise existing infrastructure, especially if the company is paying a reported $1 billion every year to Google just to use Gemini AI for Siri.

Apple is serious about AI and going with Google could give it a major filip over the competition and enable millions to access better AI tools on their iPhones, Macs and more. The iPhone maker has chosen Google to be its AI partner that will be offering new Apple Intelligence features and most likely have a lot to do with the Siri version.

When the news broke, most people were worried about Apple’s need to run these platforms through Google’s servers, which has been reportedly quashed by Apple through recent statements. However, Google’s own senior executives, including CEO Sundar Pichai had something completely to say on this matter.

“We are collaborating with Apple as their preferred cloud provider and to develop the next generation of Apple Foundation Models, based on Gemini technology." This statement is quite different from what reports have mentioned in the last few months since the Apple-Google deal was made public through media reports.

The company’s reported deal with Google to use a custom Gemini AI model to power its assistant is likely to be part of the iOS 26.4 update which is expected to roll out latest by March or April this year.
