‘Appreciate Cooperation In Countering Terrorism’: Jaishankar Meets Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Wednesday held separate meetings were FBI Director Kash Patel and US Director of Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and discussed terrorism and the global situation.

In the meeting with Patel, Jaishankar expressed appreciation for cooperation between India and the US in countering terrorism, drug trafficking, and organised crime.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Great to meet @FBIDirectorKash today. Appreciate our strong cooperation in countering organised crime, drug trafficking and terrorism."

In his meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, Jaishnkar discussed the global situation and bilateral cooperation between India and the US.

“Delighted to meet US DNI @TulsiGabbard in Washington, DC this afternoon. A good exchange on the global situation and our bilateral cooperation," Jaishankar said on X.

Jaishankar is on an official visit to the United States at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As part of his trip, he took part in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (QFMM).

In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Just had a very productive meeting with fellow Quad foreign ministers in Washington, DC. We talked about how to make the Quad more focused and effective in dealing with today’s opportunities and challenges. This meeting will help strengthen stability in the Indo-Pacific region and keep it open and free."

He also met with Secretary Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the Quad meeting. The two discussed India-US cooperation in areas such as security, important technologies, energy, connectivity, and mobility.

Jaishankar also met with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth in Washington, DC, to discuss strengthening the defence partnership between India and the United States. Their talks focused on the growing alignment in both countries’ interests, capabilities, and global responsibilities.
