PM Modi's ₹11,000 cr highway push: Delhi-NCR connectivity boost and traffic relief

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated two key highway projects, marking an 11,000 crore rupees infrastructure push for Delhi. These projects aim to significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity across the national capital region, including Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Gurugram. The Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road 2 are expected to reduce travel times and de-congest arterial routes. A journey from Dwarka Expressway to Singhu border, which previously took two and a half to three hours, is now expected to be reduced to 40 minutes. The construction utilized waste from the Ghazipur and Bhalswa landfills. These initiatives are projected to reduce the daily entry of approximately three lakh vehicles into Delhi, contributing to a decrease in pollution and traffic jams. The projects also provide multi-modal connectivity to key locations.
