Even as radicalised medical students in Bangladesh are emerging as a cause for concern in India, News18 spoke to Dhaka’s former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
According to Kamal, more than 1 million Rohingya trained by Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh will be used for terror activities across the globe.
“Bangladesh is going to be radicalisation hub soon. We never allowed anyone to come and radicalise any students coming from India and Nepal, but everything is happening today," said Kamal.

“Bangladesh is under Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) control…They have established a cantonment also in Dhaka and giving instructions to caretaker head Mohammad Yunus and Jamaat," Kamal said.
The Jamaat and its student wing, Chatra Shivir, along with Hizbul Tehri, were banned organisations during our regime but now becoming stronger and stronger with the help of the militia," he said.
How have students been radicalised?
News18 has reported how radicalised youngsters from Bangladesh could emerge as a new concern for India, according to intelligence agencies.
Around 8,500 Indian medical students studying in Bangladesh during the 2024 crisis, which led to the ouster of then PM Sheikh Hasina.
“This concentrated group across Dhaka, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Chittagong medical colleges became a target for ideological grooming," said sources.

These medical colleges are serving as ideological pipelines for Indian and Nepali students," they said.
According to sources, smaller student-specific or Ishtima congregations attract over 2-3 lakh youth annually. “This is including Indian and foreign students also who attend and they are taken care by these groups including many local concessions," they said.
