Sunita Williams, who returned to Earth after being in space for more than nine months, on Tuesday shared a heartwarming video showing her reunion with her pet dogs at her house.
Williams captioned the video “Best homecoming ever!"
The video also captured the attention of Elon Musk, who reacted with a heart emoji in the comments section.
In the video, the NASA astronaut’s two dogs could be seen merrily jumping around her and waging their tails playfully as Williams caressed them.
While in space, Sunita Williams had said she “could not wait" to be reunited with her Labrador retrievers.
She also mentioned that the hardest part about the unexpected extended stay in space was the wait to see her family back home.
Williams, along with Butch Wilmore, returned to Earth on March 18 onboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, which splashed down in the sea off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida.
Later, briefing the media, Williams said she was readjusting to her life on Earth.
“It’s great getting back. I went for a run – although very slow," Williams said in an interview in Houston.
“Just felt good to feel the air, even though it was humid air, like blowing past you, and seeing other people on the track, it’s really nice. It’s home," she mentioned.
She also said India is amazing from space and voiced optimism that she will visit her “father’s home country" and share experiences about space exploration with people there.
