BJP leader Amit Malviya on Friday took a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) registered a victory in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections, calling it a “harshest reality check" for the Rae Bareli MP.

In a post on X, Amit Malviya highlighted the contrast between Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on India’s Gen Z and the election results.

“A day after Rahul Gandhi was fantasising about a GenZ revolution, reality hit hard. The nationalist student organisation ABVP has swept the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) polls, winning 3 out of 4 seats, including the President’s post," the BJP leader tweeted.

He further added that the only seat won by the Congress-backed Students’ Union of India (NSUI), which is the Vice President’s post, also went to a former ABVP member, further diminishing the Congress’s performance.

“The only seat NSUI managed, Vice President, also went to a former ABVP activist," he further wrote.

Terming the election result a “harshest reality check" for the Congress MP, Malviya noted the proximity of DU to the Congress leader’s residence.

“This is the harshest reality check for Rahul Gandhi, right in his backyard, barely 10 km from his residence," the post read.

Malviya further claimed that GenZ voters admire Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not him. “GenZ is crystal clear: they admire a self-made, inspiring leader like Prime Minister Modi, not the entitled product of dynastic politics like Rahul Gandhi," he further stated.

Earlier on Thursday Gandhi’s had given a shoutout to the Gen Z of India to play a decisive role in safeguarding the Constitution and preventing alleged “vote theft".

“The country’s youth, the country’s students, the country’s Gen Z will save the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I will always stand with them," Gandhi had tweeted.
