Boatless in Gaza: Fishing for survival on fridge doors

With the sea as their only hope and no boats left to sail, Palestinian fishermen in Gaza have turned to an unlikely solution - using discarded refrigerator doors as makeshift rafts to catch fish. More than 15 months of relentless war between Israel and Hamas have left the harbour in ruins, with Israeli bombardments destroying most of the fishing boats. Despite the devastation, these men refuse to let their livelihoods sink. Balancing on floating debris, casting nets and baskets into the water, they navigate the harsh reality of survival, one catch at a time.
