Chandigarh school holiday calendar 2024 released: Summer vacation begins on this date

School Holidays 2024: The Department of Education Chandigarh, has released the official list of school holidays for the calendar year 2024, for all government and government-aided schools, on its official website at chdeducation.gov.in.
Teachers, Students & Parents can check the official holidays notice released on the website, which also mentions the list of local holidays and school vacations for the current academic year.

Local holidays
According to the notice, two local holidays will be observed. One for Raksha Bandhan - which falls on August 19, 2024 (Monday); and Govardhan Pooja - which falls on November 2, 2024.

Additionally, Principals/Heads of Schools have the discretion of selecting one additional holiday during the academic year.
Summer vacations
As per the notice, summer vacations will commence on May 23, 2024 and go on till June 30, 2024 - spanning a period of 39 days. It further stipulates that June 28 & 29 will be working days for teachers.
Autumn break
Autumn break begins on October 29, which will go on till November 1, 2024 - spanning a period of 4 days.

Winter vacations
According to the notice, the winter vacations will last for a period of 13 days, commencing on December 26, 2024, going on till January 7, 2025.

Further the notice also states that the second Saturday will be observed as a holiday in all of the government and government aided schools.
