A 25-year-old Chinese national was arrested for allegedly stealing a passenger's bag on a flight from Dubai to Singapore on August 8. The suspect was caught at Changi Airport.

In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old Chinese national was arrested for allegedly stealing a fellow passenger’s bag in the business class section of a flight from Dubai to Singapore.
The police were alerted at around 5.30 am (local time) on August 8 about a suspected theft in the business class section of the aircraft, and the suspect was taken into custody, reported The Strait Times.
As per the preliminary investigations, the victim’s wife caught the man allegedly stealing her husband’s bag from the overhead compartment while he was asleep. She immediately confronted the suspect, prompting him to return the bag to its place. The woman then informed her husband about the incident.
After the aircraft landed at Singapore’s Changi Airport, the accused was arrested before he could depart for his next scheduled flight. As per the report, the accused failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions to the airport police officers.
“After the aircraft landed at Changi Airport, the man was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions to officers from the Airport Police Division and was subsequently arrested before he could depart for his next scheduled flight," The Strait Times quoted the police as saying.
If convicted, he would be jailed for three years, or fine, or both.
