Maria Jose Estupinan Sanchez, a 22-year-old social media influencer, was fatally shot outside her home in Colombia last week, as reports.

Authorities say that the suspect, posing as a deliveryman, approached her home in the La Riviera neighbourhood in Cucuta, claiming to deliver a gift.
According to security footage cited by Noticias Caracol, the suspect shot Sanchez at point-blank range before fleeing on foot. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
This tragic event followed her recent courtroom victory in a domestic abuse case against her ex-boyfriend, where she secured a payout of 30 million COP (approximately USD 7,000). Authorities are now investigating the ex-boyfriend as a key suspect, believing the legal win may be connected to her murder, as reported by Canal TRO. However, no arrests have been confirmed thus far.

Just days prior, Mexican influencer Valeria Marquez was also fatally shot during a live stream by a man posing as a deliveryman. The murder, labelled a ‘Femicide,’ is under investigation.
Magda Victoria Acosta, president of the Gender Commission of the Judicial Branch, condemned Sanchez’s murder during a conference in Cúcuta, calling it a tragic loss. The public has expressed grief over Sanchez’s death, particularly on social media, where she frequently posted about her modelling work and student life.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, with no official motive confirmed yet.
