The Telangana Congress has launched a damage-control exercise to pacify unhappy MLAs who were left out of the cabinet expansion over the weekend. While three new ministers were sworn in at Raj Bhavan on Sunday afternoon, the exclusion of several prominent names has triggered discontent within party cadre.

Senior legislators, including Sudarshan Reddy, Premsagar Rao, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, and Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, were widely expected to be inducted into the cabinet. Their omission has led to visible dissatisfaction, prompting the party leadership to initiate personal outreach efforts.

Congress in-charge for Telangana, Meenakshi Natarajan, along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, reached out to Malreddy Ranga Reddy over a phone call. Following the conversation, Malreddy postponed a planned press conference that was expected to express his displeasure.

Sudarshan Reddy, who was seen as a frontrunner for a ministerial post, was particularly upset after being dropped at the last minute. Natarajan, CM’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Goud, and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav visited his residence in Jubilee Hills to address his concerns.

Sources indicate that the leadership cited social and regional balance as key factors behind the final selection. The same team later visited Premsagar Rao at his Begumpet home to continue the reconciliation efforts.

With internal tensions running high, the Congress is working to prevent factionalism and ensure party unity as it looks to consolidate power in Telangana and prepare for future electoral battles.
