US President Donald Trump said on Monday that military strikes against Iran are being considered after reports that protesters have been killed during ongoing anti-government demonstrations. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump was asked whether Iran had crossed the “red line".

“They’re starting to. There seem to be some people killed," Trump said. He added that the situation was being taken seriously by Washington.

Trump said the US military is studying possible responses. “The military is looking at it, and we’re looking at some very strong options. We’ll make a determination," he said.

However, the US President made it clear that no final decision had been taken yet, but confirmed that potential military action was among the options being discussed as the situation in Iran develops.
