Day After Arrest Over Derogatory Remark, CT Ravi Claims 'Conspiracy to Murder' Him

The allegations by CT Ravi comes a day after he was arrested for allegedly using a derogatory word against Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council.

Karnataka’s former minister and BJP MLC CT Ravi on Friday alleged that there was a conspiracy to murder him “by registering a false case". Ravi said that if something happens to him, “DK Shivakumar, Lakshmi Hebbalkar and their team" should be held responsible.

The video message by the Bharatiya Janata Party MLC comes a day after he was arrested for allegedly using a derogatory word against Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council.

Reacting to the allegations, Karnataka BJP MLA Abhay Patil said that the Congress government has turned Karnataka Assembly into a “tool for generating problems". “A murder attempt was made on 4-time MLA CT Ravi yesterday, that too inside Vidhan Soudha. A few goons of Congress came and attempted to manhandle and murder him. Police too had a hand in this. So, this is a very serious matter," he added.

Patil went on to accuse the state government of being a “Tughlaqi government" that “resorts to hooliganism".
