China and Pakistan's defense cooperation is normal and not against any third party, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. China supports India-Pakistan dialogue.

China and Pakistan are traditional friendly neighbours, and defence and security cooperation is part of the “normal cooperation" between the two countries and is not directed against any third party, said Beijing on Monday.
The remarks by Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, came after a top Indian military official said China was providing “all possible support" to Pakistan during the latter’s conflict with India during Operation Sindoor.
When asked to react to the statement by Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance), Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, Mao said, “I am not familiar with the specific situation you mentioned. What I want to tell you is that China and Pakistan are traditional friendly neighbours, and defence and security cooperation is part of the normal cooperation between the two countries and is not directed against any third party."
She went on to add that China has been closely following the development of the situation between India and Pakistan, actively promoting peace and dialogue, and maintaining regional peace and stability.
“We welcome and support India and Pakistan in properly handling differences through dialogue and consultation and seeking fundamental solutions. China is also willing to continue to play a constructive role in this regard," she added.
The spokesperson also said China-India relations are at a critical stage of improvement and development. We are willing to work with India to push China-India relations forward along a healthy and stable track, he added.
