Deadly wildfires in Los Angeles have now been ravaging the city for days. Although the reason for the wildfires has not been confirmed by officials yet as it is under investigation, experts have linked climate change and the severity of recent wildfires. But not everyone agrees that climate change is to be blamed.

Elon Musk responded “True" to a post from conspiracy theorist Alex Jones about the fires being “part of a larger globalist plot to wage economic warfare and deindustrialize the United States before triggering total collapse" but deleted his response later.

Elon Musk has also promoted posts which blame the destruction on diversity initiatives. He liked a post by right-wing commentator Matt Walsh which read, “Los Angeles deliberately set out to exclude white men from becoming firefighters, and now they don’t have enough firefighters to prevent their city from burning to the ground. DEI is a cancer that destroys everything it touches."

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly also criticised Los Angles’ fire management capabilities, writing, “In recent years, L.A.’s fire chief has made not filling the fire hydrants top priority, but diversity. Who gives a shit if the fire chief is gay. I’m sorry, but who gives a flying fig about who she likes to sleep with, can you fight the fucking fires, madam? That’s the relevant question."

Donald Trump blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom’s water policies and said that this prevented the city’s ability to fight the fires. The US President-elect said, “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground. It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!"
