Elections 2024 LIVE: Seat-sharing talks between the Maharashtra ‘Mahagathbandhan’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena (Shinde) took place late on Friday. Sources have suggested that there might be a possibility of swapping three to four seats, adding that there are indications of some candidature changes within the ist Congress Party (NCP). In the state of Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, another round of seat-sharing talks is scheduled to take place between the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi — as part of his nine-day ‘Bharat Darshan’ — is set to have fully swamped Saturday with his visit to four states in one day. His day started early with a 5:45 am safari in the Kaziranga Park in Assam and will end at night with prayers at Varanasi’s Shri Kashi Vishwananth Temple.

Earlier on Friday, the Congress party released its first list of 39 candidates including Rahul Gandhi and Bhupesh Baghel for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While Rahul is set to contest from Wayanad, the grand old party fielded the former Chhattisgarh chief minister from Rajnandgaon and MP Shashi Tharoor from his usual seat, Thiruvananthapuram.
