As Elon Musk stepped down as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on Friday, he announced that he will continue visiting the White House, while also being a “friend and advisor" to US President Donald Trump.
“I will continue to be visiting here and be a friend and advisor to the President," Elon Musk said at a joint press conference with Trump at the Oval Office in the White House.
Musk said that DOGE is merely the beginning and will grow with time as it aims to cut government waste by a trillion dollars.
“This is not the end of DOGE, but really the beginning. The DOGE team will only grow stronger over time. It is permeating throughout the government, and I am confident that, over time, we will see a trillion dollars of waste and fraud reduction," Musk said with Trump by his side.
