The US Justice Department has released 3.5 million pages of investigative material related to Jeffrey Epstein. The files include at least 2,000 videos, 180,000 images, search warrants, sealed court papers, flight logs and new emails, according to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Musk-Epstein email exchange

Among the emails is an exchange between Elon Musk and Epstein in December 2013. On December 13, Musk wrote that his family would “be in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays" and asked if there was a good time to visit.

Epstein replied that any day between January 1 and 8 would work and added there was “always space for you". Musk responded that January 1 was likely, to which Epstein suggested January 2 or 3 and said he would come to get him.

The two men tentatively agreed on a January 2, 2014 visit. However, on New Year’s Eve, Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff emailed him to remind him that Musk had been asking about coming to the island.

On January 1, Epstein followed up with Musk and suggested clearing customs in St Thomas and coming for lunch. Musk replied the next day, saying, “Logistics won’t work this time around."

Records released earlier by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee showed Musk was later scheduled to visit the island in December 2014. At that time, Epstein’s daily agenda indicated he was at his ranch in New Mexico.

A source close to Musk told The New York Post that Musk never visited the island and had “no social relationship" with Epstein.

Epstein File release

Musk is among many business and political figures named in the Justice Department’s mass release of files, made under a transparency law passed by Congress last year due to public interest in the case.

Attorney General Pam Bondi had earlier suggested she was reviewing a client list before later stating in a memo that no further disclosure would be appropriate. The memo said Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell harmed over a thousand victims but that no evidence was found to justify investigations against uncharged third parties.

Last June, during a public disagreement with President Donald Trump, Musk posted on social media claiming that Trump was in the Epstein files and that this was why they had not been made public.
