Shares of Eternal Ltd., parent company of food delivery aggregator Zomato Ltd. and quick commerce operator Blinkit Ltd. reported its June quarter results just before the close of trade on Monday, July 21.
Net profit for the quarter narrowed to ₹25 crore from ₹253 crore last year. This is a fall of 90% from last year. Revenue for the quarter increased by 70% on a year-on-year basis to ₹7,167 crore from ₹4,206 crore last year. A Kotak Securities estimate had projected Eternal's revenue to increased by 58% year-on-year to ₹6,682 crore.
Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) declined by 35% from last year to ₹115 crore. The Kotak Securities estimate had pegged the figure to be ₹130.2 crore.
Eternal's Food Delivery revenue increased to ₹2,261 crore during the June quarter, from ₹1,942 crore during the same quarter last year.
Its quick-commerce business called Blinkit, saw revenue increased to ₹2,400 crore from ₹942 crore during the year-ago period.

Shares of Eternal have built on to their gains after their results announcement, currently trading 7% on Monday after the results announcement at ₹275.2. The stock has risen 30% so far on a year-to-date basis.
