Islamabad seems to be in no mood to doze off the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India over Pahalgam terror attack as the country’s lawmakers are leaving no stones unturned to provoke New Delhi. Pakistani senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan was recently captured giving out a belligerent rhetoric in which she declared that the “brick of the new Babri mosque in Ayodhya will be laid by Pakistan Army soldiers, and the first azaan will be given by Army Chief Asim Munir himself".
Senator Palwasha Mohammad on Tuesday was seen adding fuel to the already volatile situation between the two countries as the inflammatory statement came while she was addressing the Pakistani Parliament.
Speaking in Pakistan’s upper house of Parliament, the senator asserted, “The first brick at the new Babri Mosque in Ayodhya will be laid by Pak Army soldiers and the first Azan will be recited by Pakistan Army chief Asif Munir." She further escalated the tensions by saying, “We are not wearing bangles."
Further attempting to bring in religious sentiments amid the situation, the senator asserted that Sikh soldiers won’t attack Pakistan if there is a conflict with India. “If they are threatening Pakistan, then let them know that the Sikh army will not attack Pakistan. Because it’s the land of Guru Nanak for them," she stated.
Notably, this is not the first time that the Pakistani lawmakers have made such inflammatory statements. Recently, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari gave incendiary remark after India suspended the Indus water treaty.
Brazen Remarks By Pakistani Lawmakers
Addressing a public rally, former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari issued a warning to India against diverting the Indus waters. Bilawal Bhutto claimed that Pakistan was the true custodian of the Indus civilisation and accused India of unlawfully abrogating the treaty.
“The Indus is ours and will remain ours. Either our water will flow through it, or their (Indians) blood will," Bhutto said, escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Bhutto’s provocative statement came after India decided to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty in the aftermath of the Pahalgam massacre.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in an interview, admitted that his country supported terrorist groups for many decades and acknowledged that his country was involved in the “dirty work" on behalf of the West when asked about Islamabad’s history of funding and backing terror outfits.
“We have been doing this dirty work for the US for the past three decades, including the West and UK," he had said.
