Four US Army soldiers have reportedly found dead in Lithuania, just a day after being reported missing during a training exercise near the Belarusian border.
The soldiers were conducting scheduled tactical training at the General Silvestras ukauskas training ground in Pabrad when they and their vehicle went missing on Tuesday afternoon, according to Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT.
According to the Associated Press, US Army Europe and Africa officials have promised to provide additional details as they become available.
The Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are all NATO members and have often had chilly ties with Russia, a key ally of Belarus, since declaring independence from the Soviet Union in 1990.
