As protests continue in Iran demanding freedom from the government led by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, exiled prince Reza Pahlavi has addressed supporters around the world. He said Iran under the Islamic Republic is often seen as linked to terrorism, extremism and poverty, but described the “real Iran" as peaceful, prosperous and beautiful.
Pahlavi said the Iran that existed before the Islamic Republic would rise again once the current system falls. He called for international support for the Iranian people and said the establishment of a secular and democratic government would restore dignity to the country.
Reza Pahlavi’s vision of ‘free Iran’
According to Pahlavi, a free Iran would end its nuclear military programme and immediately stop support for terrorist groups. He said the country would work with regional and global partners to combat terrorism, organised crime, drug trafficking and extremist ideologies, and act as a stabilising force in the region.
“So let me be clear about how a free Iran will act toward its neighbors and the world, after the fall of this regime. In security and foreign policy, Iran’s nuclear military program will end. Support for terrorist groups will cease immediately. A free Iran will work with regional and global partners to confront terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and extremist Islamism. Iran will act as a friend and a stabilizing force in the region. And it will be a responsible partner in global security," his post on X reads.
‘Free Iran’s’ relation with US and world
Pahlavi said relations with the United States would be normalised and friendship with the American people restored. He added that a free Iran would recognise Israel and work to expand regional agreements bringing together Iran, Israel and Arab countries.

He said Iran would become a reliable energy supplier with transparent policies and predictable prices. Pahlavi also said a democratic Iran would adopt international standards, fight corruption, open its economy to trade and investment, and replace isolation with opportunity.
“A free Iran will be a force for peace. For prosperity. And for partnership," he concluded.
Who is Reza Pahlavi?
Reza Pahlavi is the exiled Crown Prince of Iran and son of the last Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who ruled until the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Born in 1960, he was groomed as heir but fled during the revolution and later declared himself Shah in exile, though he now advocates for democratic transition over monarchy restoration.
