Godawari Power & Ispat board to consider preferential issue in Sept 18 meet

Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd (GPIL) has scheduled a board meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, to consider raising funds through a preferential issue of securities, including equity shares or warrants.

In an exchange filing, the company said the fundraising proposal will be subject to regulatory and statutory approvals, including finalisation of the issue price. As per SEBI norms, the trading window has been closed and will remain shut until 48 hours after the outcome of the board’s decision. The preferential issue, if approved, is expected to help the company shore up capital for expansion, debt reduction, or other corporate purposes.

The shares of the company ended 11% in the green on Monday (September 15), after recording its biggest single-day gain since March 2025. The stock has jumped 27% in the year so far.

Godawari Power and Ispat reported a 24.4% fall in net profit for the April-June quarter of FY26, at ₹216 crore over ₹286 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations was down 2% to ₹1,345 crore, due to a drop in realisations. On the other hand, EBITDA fell 20.8% to ₹346 crore, and EBITDA margin slipped to 25.7% from 31.8% in the year-ago period.
