US President Donald Trump said that his second term will be different from his first in an interview with ‘The Atlantic’- the magazine that exposed ‘Signalgate’ involving US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Donald Trump asserted that he now runs “both the country and the world".

He said, “The first time, I had two things to do — run the country and survive; I had all these crooked guys. And the second time, I run the country and the world." The US President added, “I’m having a lot of fun, considering what I do. You know, what I do is such serious stuff."

Remarking on the friendly reception he’s gotten from many billionaires during his second term, including Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Donald Trump said, “It’s just a higher level of respect. I don’t know. Maybe they didn’t know me at the beginning, and they know me now."

Donald Trump’s Tiff With ‘The Atlantic’

The comments were made by the US President as he spoke to Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, who reported last month that he was inadvertently added to a Signal messaging app group chat with top Donald Trump administration officials as they discussed Yemen war plans.

Ahead of the interview, Donald Trump took a dig at the magazine and said he wanted to see if it would be truthful. He wrote on his own social media platform Truth Social, “I am doing this interview out of curiosity, and as a competition with myself, just to see if it’s possible for The Atlantic to be ‘truthful."

Donald Trump On Running For Office A Third Time

When Donald Trump was asked about the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House ‒ an idea he keeps floating- he said that he has not tasked the US Justice Department to look into the legality of running again, but left the door open to it.

Donald Trump said, “That would be a big shattering, wouldn’t it? Well, maybe I’m just trying to shatter." The US Constitution explicitly says that no one can be elected more than twice to the presidency.
