HCL Technologies became the first Indian IT company to report standalone AI revenue, with its ‘Advanced AI’ business exceeding $100 million in Q2, marking a milestone in its AI-led growth strategy.
HCL Technologies (HCLTech) on Monday said it has become the first Indian IT services company to report standalone AI revenue, with its ‘Advanced AI’ business exceeding $100 million in the September quarter (Q2 FY26).
The company said this segment includes revenue from evolving AI technologies such as generative and agentic AI, as well as data and analytics services.
C Vijayakumar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HCL Technologies, called it “a standout quarter on every front — marked by strong execution, growing demand for our AI-powered solutions, and Advanced AI revenue exceeding $100 million this quarter.” He added that revenue grew “2.4% sequentially in constant currency with a strong recovery of operating margin to 17.5%.”
For the first time, new bookings surpassed $2.5 billion, rising 42% quarter-on-quarter, without reliance on any mega deal. The company also added 3,489 employees, with revenue per employee rising 1.8% year-on-year, in line with its AI-led growth strategy.
HCL Tech maintained its FY26 EBIT margin guidance at 17–18% and narrowed its services growth outlook to 4–5%. Wage hikes will take effect from October 2025, while fresher hiring in the first half of FY26 has already crossed 90% of last year’s total.
