Donald Trump On Bangladesh Crisis: US President Donald Trump dismissed a question on the Bangladesh crisis and said, “I’ll leave Bangladesh to PM Modi.”

US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump rejected any role of the United States in the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh. As he sat along with PM Modi for a press conference- following a bilateral meeting in Washington where the two leaders discussed trade and India-US ties- Donald Trump dismissed a question on the Bangladesh crisis.
He said, “I’ll leave Bangladesh to PM Modi."
This comes as the US halted all aid to the Bangladesh government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as the Donald Trump administration, through its donor agency USAID, announced the immediate cessation of all work in Bangladesh.
This will include contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and other procurement instruments which the US undertakes in Bangladesh.
In a letter issued by USAID, the agency informed partners that all projects under its Bangladesh operations were to be suspended.
The letter stated, “This letter is directing all USAID/Bangladesh implementing partners to immediately cease or suspend any work under your USAID/Bangladesh contract, work order, grant, cooperative agreement, or other assistance or acquisition instrument."
