A low-moving storm has brought rain and freezing rain to many locations. It is likely to continue over the weekend into Monday. As the storm arrives, rain will fall in places, including Green Bay, Fox Valley, and along the Lakeshore.

But freezing rain is expected for those in the Northwoods, which can be treacherous to drive in.

Winter weather advisory issued

Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Brown, Outagamie, and Waushara counties. It will remain in effect until Sunday at 7 PM.

People in these counties should be extra cautious because of snow and ice on the roads, which can make driving slippery and risky. The advisory might also be extended south or last into Sunday evening.

Ice storm warning in Northwoods

Meanwhile, an ice storm warning has been issued for the Northwoods and parts of Waupaca and Shawano counties. It began Saturday evening and will continue until Sunday night.

Ice accumulation in these areas could range from 0.25 to 0.5 inches. This could make roads icy and treacherous. If possible, it's best to stay off the roads. For those who must drive, slow down and allow extra time for travel.

Expect weather to change

The weather will continue to change through Sunday. Periods of rain and freezing rain are expected, particularly in the Fox Valley and Lakeshore.

The highest temperature will be in the low to mid-30s. The Northwoods are colder, with highs only in the low 30s. As the winds change, colder air will make conditions even more treacherous, with a chance of light snow later tonight.
